Job Title: DTL Rolling Stock, Section head
Major Responsibilities
- Manage, lead and motivate the Engineering Trains Unit to achieve quality, cost and availability targets which meet customer needs.
- Develop and control the Engineering Trains Unit budget.
- Develop, manage and execute plans for maintenance of engineering trains
- Ensure that procedures, processes and instructions are available for staff and/or contractors to undertake overhaul and repair tasks safely and to the correct technical requirements.
- Lead supervisory teams in developing maintenance techniques which enable maintenance and overhaul tasks to be undertaken in ways which provide high quality at least possible costs.
- Lead the management of safety in the Engineering Trains Unit section.
- Responsible to upkeep and maintain department key document such as Department Maintenance Plan.
- Monitor the department-sponsored Work Instructions and procedures and plan for timely review.
- Oversee improvement / initiatives / proposal to enhance the Quality and Safety of the department.
Requirements
- Possess a recognized bachelor degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical or Electronic Engineering from a reputable University or Polytechnic.
- Preferably Chartered/ Registered/ Professional Engineer of any reputable Professional Engineer Institution
- Preferably at least 7 years of post-graduate working experience with 5 years of relevant working experience in railway environment.
- Possess good planning and prioritizing skills.
- Good interpersonal, management and communication skills.
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities and is capable of motivating teammates.
- Have good initiative, able to work well independently in demanding situations.
