Engineering Intern

The Engineering Intern will be reporting to the Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer and Engineering Manager, and will be accountable and authorized for the following:

1. Continuously improve workplace safety and quality of OSS products, and eliminate waste in all processes to achieve better delivery lead time and reduce overall cost.

2. Develop a strong understanding of core manufacturing processes, understand QMS, HR and Finance policies and procedures across all departments, and identify areas for continuous improvement.

3. Collaborate with different stakeholders to conceptualize and propose projects related to process optimization, digital transformation and innovation, and organizational development.

4. Consolidate and analyse relevant operational data to generate actionable, data-driven insights, and employ key performance metrics to substantiate project recommendations and validate expected outcomes.

5. Generate comprehensive project documentation and deliver professional presentations covering technical requirements, process qualifications, grant justifications, project lifecycles, progress updates and final reports to Management and HODs.

6. Lead cross-functional project teams to successfully deliver project outcomes on schedule and within allocated resources, while ensuring long-term sustainability through structured performance monitoring and regular post-implementation reviews.

7. Conduct training and provide guidance on continuous improvement methodologies, lean principles, kaizen practices, and project management frameworks to build organizational capability.

8. Implement 5S initiatives on the shopfloor to enhance operational flow, and enforce digital housekeeping standards to ensure proper documentation control and preservation of corporate knowledge.

Requirements:

. Knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g. precision machining, welding, etc.) and industry 4.0/5.0 shopfloor digitalization solutions.

. Proficiency in utilizing continuous improvement tools (Lean, Kaizen, 5S, VSM).

. Ability to perform data analysis, process mapping and structured workflow documentation.

. Strong project management skills with good presentation, communication and stakeholder-engagement capabilities.

. Ability to prepare comprehensive technical reports and project documentation independently.

. Preferably with basic coding skills, and experience in website design or user interface (UI) development and Microsoft suite (esp. Power BI, Excel, VBA, and PowerPoint).
