Engineering Inspector

1. Review quality manuals, inspection, and test plans.

2. Review fabrication and erection procedures.

3. Review welding procedure specifications, procedure qualification records, and welder/welding operator qualification records.

4. Conduct pre-inspection meetings and audits of fabricator facilities/plants.

5. Review material test certificates/records, verify or inspect materials, and witness pre-treatment processes.

6. Witness mechanical tests conducted by accredited laboratories.

7. Witness cutting/edge joint preparations, verify joint geometry, and inspect the fit-out condition prior to welding.

8. Verify that welding processes are carried out in accordance with approved welding procedures, codes/standards, and relevant documents.

9. Perform visual inspections and verify dimensional records.

10. Select weld joints for testing and witness non-destructive testing (NDT), assessing all results.

11. Witness blasting and galvanizing processes.

12. Inspect painting and galvanizing works.

13. Identify and verify completed structural members, and witness the handling of these members onto lorries/trucks for delivery to the site.

14. Inspect delivered structural members for damage due to handling and transportation.

15. Inspect the assembly of structural members at the erection site prior to welding.

16. Verify all welding procedures and welder qualification records at the erection site.

17. Witness procedure trials for stud welding processes.

18. Inspect all welds and bolt tightening.

19. Select welds for testing and witness erection site NDT.

20. Inspect all remaining site painting and witness the repair of all protective treatment works.

21. Perform inspections on piping and equipment at refineries and chemical plants.

22. Conduct welding procedure qualification tests and welder performance tests.

23. Perform corrosion inspections on steel structures, piping, and plant equipment.

24. Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.
