[What the role is]
Licensing & Environmental Assessment Department (LEAD) under Development Control and Licensing Division (DCLD) manages the environmental and public health licensing function of NEA. The department also supports policy and licence fee reviews, licensing system developments and service delivery initiatives. You will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the hazardous substances and waste management licensing regimes which include processing and assessing licence applications as well as managing enquires on licensing-related matters. You will also work with fellow colleagues within the same department as well as across other departments in administering the licensing regimes.
[What you will be working on]
You Will Be Responsible For The Following
- Process and assess hazardous substances and waste management licence applications and other supporting documents
- Assist and guide the applicants in their licence applications
- Attend to and manage enquiries on licensing-related matters
- Collate and update licensing records
- Work closely with colleagues within the same department and across other departments in administering the licensing regimes
[What we are looking for]
The job might be for you if you possess the following qualities:
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering or equivalent with knowledge of environmental legislation
- Excellent customer service skills with experience managing difficult customers
- Proficient in computer systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Self-motivated, committed and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Mature, independent and resourceful with strong analytical abilities
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Meticulous team player with collaborative approach
