RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a quality engineering position. The incumbent shall execute the quality assurance role with good technical rationale and understanding, acquired from developing an appreciation of the industry practices, and applicable technology developments. Scope of work may include supplier management, in-process quality control design, outgoing quality controls, quality assurance planning, quality management system maintenance and improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supplier Management and Quality Assurance Planning

• Manage the qualification of new materials/suppliers.
• Manage the incoming quality of the materials
• Drive supplier quality through audits and efficient rating system and reviews to ensure conformance to specification and continuous improvement in system, procedures and processes.
• Develop and implement quality control plan for adequacy and suitability for the production
• Drive improvement of process and product quality by monitoring quality indicators (SPC, Yield, defect rates)
• Non-conforming materials and products management
• Benchmark, develop and implement inspection methods and procedures to meet quality objectives, product quality, quality assurance, technical goals and productivity savings

Quality Management System according to ISO 9001

• Review and update Quality Management System procedures to meet the quality system requirements
• Maintain and update documents and records with proper documentation control & distribution
• Ensure system compliance & preparations for Management Review
• Manage internal and external corrective action reports (CAR)
• Maintain and improve the calibration management system
• Manage, conduct and improve internal audit programs and document review procedures
• Ensure readiness of all sections for both 3rd party certification body and customer audits

Communication and Presentation

• Ability to communicate and present at all levels of the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB COMPETENCIES:

Technical

• Quality Management Systems and related standards and requirements (ISO 9001)
• GR&R, FMEA, SPC, MSA
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Analytical & Problem Solving

• 8D problem solving methodology, SPC

Soft Skills & Professional Attributes

• Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Depending on the competencies developed, the engineer may be rotated to different departments.

Authorities

• Engineer will be reporting directly to the Quality Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Technical/ Professional

• Minimum bachelor's degree (Engineering discipline preferred).
• Working experiences in QMS and ISO 9001 audit, preferably in manufacturing industries
• Experience in using quality tools for problem solving
• Experience in GR&R, FMEA, SPC, MSA.
• Entry level candidates with strong technical and analytical interests will be considered

Technological

• Knowledge in Quality Management Systems and related standards and requirements (ISO 9001)
• Be familiar with 8D problem solving methodology, SPC, ISO9001, IEC 62941
• Knowledge in IEC, UL standards and its application towards product conformity to safety and reliability will be beneficial, though not necessary

General

• Strong sense of ownership and self-motivation, good initiative
• Must be able to work independently
• Proactive working attitude - hands on approach
• High level of accuracy with special attention to detail.
• Ability to write procedures and work instructions.
• Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, both internally and externally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Good time management with ability to handle pressure and multitask under tight timelines
• Ability to work with limited supervision and through extended hours when needed

Project Management:

• Strong organization and project management skills

REC Knowledge

• Working experience in Solar/Semiconductor/Electronics manufacturing industry is advantageous.

Additional Advantageous Skills

• Proficient in Software statistical tools is an added advantage. (e.g. Minitab, JMP, etc)
• Aptitude in higher level use of Excel (E.g.: Formulas and Macros) is an added advantage
• Proficient in Data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI) is an added advantage
