Key Responsibilities
- Develop piping design documents, including general arrangements (GA), piping isometrics, piping material specifications, and stress analysis.
- Specify and select mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, valves and coating requirements for aboveground and underground pipeline systems.
- Perform mechanical and piping design calculations, including pipeline stress analysis, pipe wall thickness, etc.
- Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate design options and select optimal solutions based on cost, safety, and performance.
- Provide technical consulting and support to clients, ensuring design solutions meet their specific needs and industry regulations.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (I&C, electrical, civil) to ensure integrated system designs.
- Review contractor/vendor proposals, assess technical documentation, and lead technical clarifications and procurement activities.
- Ensure designs comply with project specifications, applicable codes & standards (ASME, API, etc.), and regulations.
- To attend Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) or Site Acceptance Test (SAT), locally or overseas.
- Provide field support during installation and commissioning phases, ensuring that designs are correctly implemented.
- Assist in the preparation of as-built documentation, commissioning plans, and handover reports.
Qualifications, Experience, And Personal Attributes
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related field.
- Must be a Singapore Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Malaysian.
- 510 years of experience in piping and mechanical equipment engineering for gas pipeline or oil & gas projects.
- Familiarity with international design codes (e.g. AS/NZ2885, ASME B31.8, ASME B31.3, API 5L/6D, ASME Sect. VIII)
- Proficiency in engineering tools such as CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, PV Elite, and 3D modeling platforms (e.g., PDMS, E3D).
- Familiarity with pipeline routing, stress analysis, and mechanical handling studies.
- Positive work attitude with a proactive, team-oriented approach; strong communication and presentation skills.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with occasional travel to client sites, fabrication yards, and construction locations for project assessments, vendor meetings, and commissioning support.
- Exposure to multiple project phases, including FEED, evaluation / review on contractor/vendor's engineering design drawings/documents, technical support during construction and commissioning.
