About The Role
As Engineering Manager, APAC, you will support the Engineering Director in leading the implementation of the team's responsibilities at a regional level and provide line management for Principal Delivery Engineers across all our sites. The Engineering Manager is responsible for assisting the Engineering Director to plan and execute engineering strategic plans in the delivery stage to improve reliability and total cost of ownership of the regional facilities The Engineering manager will support the Engineering Director in implementing the engineering plans and reviewing internal reports for presentation to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing and managing independent assessments of data centre infrastructure integrity, including identifying and remediating Single Points of Failure.
- Reviewing and evaluating technical designs from external teams to ensure resilience and cost-effectiveness.
- Partnering with Group Delivery stakeholders to ensure capital procurement is cost-effective, considering total cost of ownership.
- Identifying key risks in technical proposals and planning mitigation strategies.
- Collaborating with Group Delivery stakeholders to develop framework agreements with OEMs for optimal procurement and maintenance and assisting with the preparation and negotiating consultant agreements (non-legal elements).
- Support the Group Delivery Project Management team to ensure timely completion of internal approval documentation.
- Preparing regular reports for senior management and actively recording lessons learned.
- Tracking new technologies and sustainable approaches to improve resilience and reduce energy consumption.

As a collaborative and influential leader, you are comfortable managing technical teams, engaging with senior stakeholders, and working alongside consultants, contractors, and operational teams across multiple locations. You bring a strategic mindset to engineering challenges, balancing innovation, risk management, and operational requirements to deliver practical, value-driven solutions. Whether reviewing technical designs, assessing infrastructure resilience, supporting major capital projects, or implementing engineering strategy, you provide clear direction and inspire confidence through your expertise and professionalism.
Key Requirements
- Understanding of Edge and hyperscale customer design philosophies and requirements.
- Experience in producing or analysing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) reports.
- Working knowledge of all critical systems equipment.
- Previous experience managing external data centre design or construction teams.
- Knowledge of permitting regulations for data centre designs.
- Commercial awareness of capital expenditure (CAPEX) and total cost of ownership (TCO) specific to data centres.
- Strong understanding of time, cost, and quality, with emphasis on delivering to budget while meeting operational requirements.
