The Energy Modeling Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and utilizing advanced facility simulation models to support project delivery, design optimization, sustainability assessments, and engineering consulting services. The role evaluates facility performance, energy consumption, utility demand, carbon emissions, and operational strategies to support informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Explore Your Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply dynamic simulation models for semiconductor fabs, data centres, battery manufacturing facilities, and other advanced technology projects.
  • Perform engineering analyses of HVAC, chilled water, process cooling water, exhaust, vacuum, utility, heat recovery, and other critical facility systems.
  • Evaluate facility energy performance, water consumption, carbon emissions, system reliability, and operational efficiency under varying design and operating conditions.
  • Develop and assess control strategies, equipment sequencing, load balancing approaches, and facility ramp-up scenarios to optimize operational performance.
  • Support project teams by identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency, sustainability performance, resilience, and lifecycle cost effectiveness.
  • Prepare technical reports, performance assessments, benchmarking studies, and engineering recommendations for clients and project stakeholders.
  • Support proposal activities by providing simulation-based evaluations, energy and carbon assessments, and design optimization studies.
  • Collaborate with process, mechanical, controls, utilities, and sustainability teams to improve model accuracy and engineering outcomes.
  • Present simulation findings and technical insights to clients, project teams, and management to support engineering decision-making

Show Your Expertise

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience using Siemens Simcenter AMESIM or equivalent dynamic simulation software.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, utility systems, control strategies, energy modelling, and facility operations.
  • Experience in semiconductor, data centre, battery, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing facilities preferred.
