About the Team The HR Operations team endeavors to continuously build and deliver a seamless and positive employee experience across the whole employee lifecycle. Manage and monitor employment tax and social security risks across APAC 2. Execute specific tax related processes/activities following agreed global standard processes and governance framework and identify opportunities for standardization and simplification 3. Ensure that all of the employment tax compliance obligations are met, including in-house preparation and submission of returns and working in partnership with external advisors 4. Process employment tax payments within relevant statutory deadlines 5. Coordinate with external advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax filings 6. Ensure mapping and documentation of all employment tax processes and identify areas for improvement 7. Perform tax research and propose recommendations based on findings 8. Provide employment tax advice to all business units within the APAC ByteDance group 9. Manage employment tax and social security audits 10. Provide internal and external audit support, including data analysis 11. Detail oriented, excellent analytical skills, ability to take initiative with a strong interest in international employment taxes.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification(s) 1. Proficiency in Chinese and English is required to collaborate with global partners based in China Mainland, where Chinese is the primary working language, and be flexible for cross-border business trips and work across time zones 2. Ability to adapt, demonstrate flexibility to changing task priorities and work situations, and ability to explain technical concepts in a simple and comprehensive way to colleagues without a tax technical background 3. Ability to research technical queries by analyzing and interpreting tax legislation 4. Detail oriented, excellent analytical skills, ability to take initiative with a strong interest in international payroll and employment taxes 5. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Preferred Qualification(s) 1. Previous experience of employment tax, either in-house or in a professional services firm.
