Our client is a leading multinational organisation seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to provide strategic and practical legal support on employment matters across multiple APAC jurisdictions. This role partners closely with senior stakeholders, HR, and crossfunctional teams to ensure compliance with employment laws while enabling the business to operate effectively and responsibly.
Key Responsibilities of this Employment Counsel, APAC (512+ PQE):
- Advise on a broad range of employment matters including workplace policies, performance and conduct issues, investigations, disciplinary processes, terminations, whistleblowing, and regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, contractor agreements, separation agreements, and related HR documentation.
- Provide guidance on labour law requirements, employee relations issues, crossborder mobility, and dispute resolution across multiple APAC markets.
- Support the development and implementation of employmentrelated strategies to mitigate risk and align with business objectives.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and ensure timely updates to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal legal, HR, compliance, and risk teams to ensure employment policies support organisational goals and regional consistency.
- Manage external counsel as needed for complex matters or countryspecific advisory work.
Requirements for this Employment Counsel, APAC (512+ PQE):
- Qualified lawyer with 512+ years of postqualification experience in employment law, gained in private practice and/or inhouse.
- Strong understanding of employment laws, regulatory frameworks, and dispute resolution mechanisms across APAC jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to provide clear, pragmatic, and commercially oriented legal advice to nonlegal stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and stakeholdermanagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and seniority levels.
- Experience within a multinational corporation or a regulated industry (e.g., technology, financial services, life sciences).
