Job Description:
- Attend ECC and general hospital inpatient rounds as required during shift timings- actively contribute to case discussion to improve the standard of care provided to patients from all departments.
- Establish and recommend best practice diagnostics and treatment plans for patients in ICU and wards that are under ECC team's care
- Clear and compassionate communication with clients
- Supervise and assist ECC veterinarians with complex cases and procedures to ensure quality of care is maintained
- Supervise ECC nurses/technicians to ensure quality of care is maintained
- Actively facilitate the intake of referrals from referring veterinarians, and assisting with transfer to our specialist departments as indicated
- Efficiently facilitate triage, diagnostics and treatment for walk-in emergencies
- Communicate and collaborate with referring veterinarians regarding cases that have been transferred back to referral clinics
- Work alongside senior ECC veterinarians to improve the standard of service provided by the ECC department
- Contribute insights and advice that will improve workflow within the ECC team
- Collaborate with management team to optimise revenue from the ECC team
- Maintain a high quality of medical records within the team, including provision of feedback and recommendations for improvement as needed
- Participate in performance evaluations for ECC team members if required
- Collaborate with ECC veterinarians and nurses/technicians in the development of best practice guidelines and Standard Operating Protocols for the ECC department
- Spearhead and support the provision of ECC-specialised services, such as blood-banking and haemodialysis
- Oversee the training of junior ECC veterinarians and new hires
- Mentoring veterinary interns
- Contribute to organisation of journal clubs to facilitate shared team learning
- Encourage the ECC team to participate actively in scholarly activity including presentations at conferences or production of peer-reviewed publications
- Represent Beecroft at local and international events as required
Desired skills and experience:
- Degree in Veterinary Medicine/Science from veterinary schools fully accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) or the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC), with a veterinary licensure in Singapore and Internal Medicine Specialist or equivalent
- At least 7 years of experience in veterinary medicine.
