Role Overview
We are looking for a senior, hands-on engineer to turn the world's top-tier robotics AI partners, including Field AI and other leading autonomy, manipulation, and embodied intelligence providers, into working, reliable, deployable systems within Certis robotics platform and real-world operations.
Work directly with robots, systems, vendors, and deployments on site, solve real problems under real constraints, and stay close execution until the system actually works.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate partner AI systems for navigation, manipulation, perception, voice, and embodied decision-making into Certis platforms and robot workflows
- Turn model-level capabilities into end-to-end robot behaviors that work reliably in real environments
- Tune, debug, and harden systems for deployment robustness, latency, safety, fallback, and recovery
- Build evaluation and benchmarking pipelines for partner technologies, and provide strong technical input for partner selection
- Build data collection and rapid iteration loops across deployment, system improvement, and partner collaboration
- Work on site during integration, testing, deployment, and critical support periods as needed
Required Capabilities
Core Technical Skills
- Strong programming ability in Python and at least one systems language such as C++
- Solid experience with robotics systems, such as robot SDKs, sensors, control loops, edge compute, and system integration
- Good understanding of modern AI systems, including multimodal models, model inference pipelines, and embodied AI concepts
Embodied AI
- Deep hands-on experience building or integrating embodied AI systems for real robots, not just simulation or model research
- Proven track record of translating advanced AI capability into reliable physical robot behavior in unstructured real-world environments
- Strong understanding of the full embodied loop: perception, state estimation, reasoning, planning, control, execution, and recovery
- Able to evaluate frontier embodied AI approaches with strong technical judgment and quickly identify what will or will not work in deployment
Systems Thinking
- Able to design and debug end-to-end systems rather than isolated modules
- Comfortable working across cloud, edge, robot hardware, operations, and partner interfaces
- Strong troubleshooting ability in complex, messy, real-world systems
Working Style
- Strong ownership mindset and highly hands-on
- Willing to work on site with robots, engineers, operators, and partners
- Comfortable being on duty during critical testing, deployment, and field support periods
- Execution-focused, fast-moving, willing to do what is necessary to make the system actually work
Preferred Experience
- Experience with manipulation systems, teleoperation, imitation learning, or multimodal agent systems
- Experience with real-world robot deployment, not only simulation
- Experience working directly with external technical partners and deployment teams, Experience integrating third-party robotics or AI systems.
