We're looking for a seasoned Embedded Firmware Engineer who has shipped IoT products at scale, preferably on AWS, and thrives in fast-paced startup environments.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for ELLO's next-gen security cameras.
- Work with ARM-based MCUs, SoCs, and camera modules (low-level drivers, RTOS, Linux).
- Implement and optimize wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi, BLE, Matter optional).
- Build reliable OTA update mechanisms and device provisioning flows.
- Integrate with cloud services (AWS IoT Core, Greengrass, or similar) for secure device-to-cloud communication.
- Collaborate with hardware, CV/AI, and mobile teams to bring features from prototype to mass production.
- Debug, profile, and optimize for performance, power efficiency, and security.
- Support manufacturing and field deployment with diagnostic tools and firmware testing.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development for consumer hardware or IoT products.
- Strong skills in C/C++, with exposure to Python or shell scripting.
- Hands-on experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, etc.) and Linux-based firmware.
- Proven track record building firmware that shipped in high-volume IoT/consumer electronics products.
- Experience with AWS IoT (Core, Greengrass, Device Shadows, OTA jobs) strongly preferred.
- Familiar with camera, video, or sensor integration.
- Solid understanding of security protocols (TLS, device authentication, key management).
- Familiarity with DFU, OTA, and factory provisioning workflows.
- Bonus: knowledge of computer vision hardware pipelines or edge AI accelerators.
