Job Description
Objective:
To lead electrical engineering and automation projects, driving PLC development, machine commissioning, team management and continuous improvement for semiconductor and precision automation equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical engineering and PLC development for automation equipment.
- Manage electrical design, including schematics, BOM, component selection and control systems.
- Lead PLC/HMI programming, motion control, safety systems and machine communication.
- Support machine installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and customer-site activities.
- Drive standardisation of electrical designs, PLC programs, function blocks and component libraries.
- Lead and develop the electrical engineering team, including hiring, training and resource planning.
- Work closely with Mechanical, Software, Vision, Process Engineering and suppliers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Support customer trials, production ramp-up and technical improvements.
- Keep up with new automation and semiconductor equipment technologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or related fields.
- 8+ years of experience in electrical design and PLC development for automation equipment.
- At least 3 years of team management or project leadership experience.
- Experience in semiconductor or precision automation equipment is preferred.
- Strong experience with at least one PLC platform such as Mitsubishi, Omron, Siemens, Inovance, Keyence, Beckhoff or CODESYS.
- Knowledge of PLC architecture, motion control, servo systems, sensors, safety systems and automation equipment.
- Familiar with industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, TCP/IP or OPC UA.
- Experience integrating PLCs with PCs, robots, vision systems, barcode scanners or MES.
- Proficient in EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Strong troubleshooting, commissioning, leadership and project management skills.
- Willing to travel to customer sites and support occasional overtime when required.
