Job Summary
Detail-oriented Electrical Installation Engineer skilled in installing, testing, and commissioning medium-voltage electrical systems. Experienced with 22kV switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and high-voltage testing to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant installations in industrial and commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and execute electrical installation works for industrial and commercial projects to meet project specifications and deadlines
- Install and commission 22kV switchgear, transformers, and associated medium-voltage equipment ensuring operational readiness
- Perform wiring, cable laying, termination, and panel installation with precision to maintain system integrity
- Conduct HIPOT (high-potential) testing and insulation resistance tests to verify electrical safety and compliance
- Install, configure, and test protection relays and control systems to ensure proper system protection and functionality
- Interpret and apply electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLD), and schematics to guide installation and commissioning activities
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with relevant safety standards, codes, and project requirements
- Coordinate effectively with contractors, vendors, and project teams to resolve issues and achieve project milestones
- Troubleshoot installation problems promptly to maintain system performance and reliability
Required competencies and certifications
- Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) or equivalent certification to perform electrical installation work safely and legally
- Workplace safety certifications such as electrical safety and work-at-height to ensure compliance with safety regulations
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field to support technical understanding and execution
- Experience in electrical installation, construction, or commissioning projects to enhance practical skills and project delivery
- Background in industrial plants, substations, or commercial buildings to provide relevant industry knowledge
