Wood is currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to support our growing operations in Singapore. You will be responsible for the execution of project work in accordance with company procedures within the man-hour and cost budgets.
The Role
The Electrical Engineer is accountable for the successful delivery of capital projects, ensuring zero safety or quality incidents, and completion within approved timelines and budgets. This role supports strategic site objectives by ensuring projects meet engineering, safety, and regulatory standards, and align with operational excellence.

Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical system studies
- Prepare electrical job specifications and datasheets under guidance by Senior/Principal/Chief Electrical Engineer
- Execution of assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, codes and standards
- Perform activities such as – issue of material requisitions and technical bid evaluations as per relevant Technical Practices
- Review Vendor drawings and documentation as per relevant Technical Practices
- Follow the ethics of confidentiality on technologies licensed by Client or Third Party
- Ensure project filing is maintained as per Quality Procedures
- Liaise with other groups as necessary
- Ensure timely production of deliverables
- Carry out proper closeout of all project related work.
- Keep Lead Engineer informed about matters related to the following:
- Any major issue (design, schedule or manpower) the causes and proposed corrective action
- Any unresolved difference with other Groups
- Any request for changes by the Client which may constitute a contract change.
- Ensure high quality of work within the established/assigned man-hour budgets and schedule targets
- Update lesson learned database regularly
- Support lead engineer in providing key quantities at various stages of project
- To be part of field engineering team as per project need
- Suggest new software, books and standards
- Assist when required in preparation of proposals and in presentations to prospective clients
- If they possess expert knowledge on PC based electrical program, then in co-ordination with Section head, training shall be conducted for other staff members.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with 8 years of experience in Refinery/ Petrochemical/Chemical/Power/LNG / Pharmaceutical Plant Projects.
- Knowledge of electrical power systems, conversant with Local and international codes and standards and Industry accepted electrical engineering softwares
- Working experience on Industry accepted electrical engineering software's such as ETAP, SKM for electrical system studies/calculations is desired.
- Working experience on Smart plant electrical is an added advantage.
- Self-motivated, self-reliant, energetic, taking proactive measure etc. are desired
