Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support electrical installation, testing, and maintenance works on construction sites. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring all electrical systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and local electrical codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and maintain electrical systems including wiring, conduits, panels, switches, sockets, lighting, and earthing systems.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Assist in site electrical layout and material planning.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical faults during construction and commissioning stages.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and local electrical codes.
- Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other trades on site.
- Conduct insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, and functional testing.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe condition.
- Prepare daily work reports and update supervisors on progress.
- Support inspections by consultants, clients, and authorities when required.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements:
- Diploma/ ITI / Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in construction electrical works (residential, commercial, or industrial).
- Good knowledge of electrical installation methods and safety practices.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
- Familiarity with tools such as multimeters, testers, and power tools.
- Knowledge of local electrical codes and standards (would be an added advantage).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to work on construction sites.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Strict adherence to site safety rules and PPE usage.
- Awareness of electrical hazards and risk prevention methods.
