Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, review, and integration of electrical systems for diesel-electric vessels. The role involves ensuring compliance with technical specifications, classification rules, and industry standards, preparing and reviewing electrical drawings and calculations, and coordinating system integration among multiple vendors. The position also supports testing procedures, FMEA compliance, and system performance related to power management, automation, and dynamic positioning systems.
Responsibilities
- Meet technical specification requirements
- Interpretation of class rules to address testing procedures
- Conduct short-circuit verification
- Be familiar with elect standard compliance for oil and gas and knowledge in Integrated Automation System (IAS).
- Document preparation and review for single line drawing
- Evaluation of electrical load analysis, power plant, switchboards, variable frequency drive, starters panel, power distribution, alarm monitoring, fire protection, PAGA, navigation, communication and others for diesel electric vessels.
- Develop drawing list, cable termination drawing, cable list , cable tray sizing , breakers sizing, control console
- Preparation of testing protocol according to building schedule.
- Require system integration skills to liaise among vendors of electrical power management systems, power plant, propulsion, IAS, equipment suppliers while meeting FMEA compliance for dynamic positioning and check on harmonic distortion.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering/Marine Engineering
- 5 years of experience in shipyards and in the marine electrical field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Be able to work in Batam and travel to other countries when necessary
