Role: Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop comprehensive electrical systems for industrial and power generation projects, ensuring compliance with relevant international standards and client specifications.
- Specify, evaluate, and integrate key electrical components including Transformers, Switchgear, Motor Control Centres (MCC), Main Distribution Boards (MDB), Power Control Centres (PCC), UPS systems, and Emergency Diesel Generators (EDG).
- Interpret, develop, and review critical electrical engineering deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Load Lists, Cable Schedules, Panel General Arrangements (GA), Schematic Diagrams, and Cable Routing plans.
- Manage and coordinate with vendors and suppliers, demonstrating strong technical and commercial acumen in negotiating contracts, evaluating proposals, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality electrical equipment and services.
- Provide expert technical responses to queries raised by vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, effectively resolving issues related to electrical system design and implementation.
- Conduct technical reviews and ensure the accuracy and integrity of all electrical design documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with overall project design.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes in electrical power engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in electrical design engineering within heavy industries such as power generation, data centres, oil & gas, or similar.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with the function, application, and design principles of Transformers, Switchgear, MCC, MDB, PCC, UPS systems, and EDG.
- Proficient in interpreting and developing electrical engineering deliverables, including SLDs, Load Lists, Cable Schedules, Panel GAs, Schematic Diagrams, and Cable Routing.
- Proven capability in vendor/supplier management, encompassing both technical evaluation and commercial negotiation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively respond to complex technical queries.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in relevant electrical design software and tools is a plus.
