Job Description
The Electrical Commissioning Specialist will be responsible for supporting the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of electrical systems for a gas turbine power project. The role involves ensuring systems are tested, verified, and ready for safe and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for electrical systems
- Conduct testing and verification of generators, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems
- Perform wiring checks, functional testing, and relay testing
- Support energization and synchronization of gas turbine units
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and resolve on-site technical issues
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and commissioning documentation
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and operational procedures
- Coordinate with engineering teams, construction personnel, vendors, and clients
- Support project milestones and assist in plant handover to operations
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience in electrical commissioning, preferably in power generation or gas turbine projects
- Strong knowledge of power systems, including generators, transformers, and protection schemes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Experience with testing equipment and commissioning procedures
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in a site-based environment
- Familiarity with safety standards and industry best practices
