Job Description:

Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator in the construction industry ensures compliance with safety regulations, promotes a culture of workplace safety, and minimizes environmental risks. This role involves conducting inspections, training employees, and implementing safety programs to prevent accidents and injuries on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

1. Safety Compliance & Risk Management:

- Ensure compliance with WSH regulations, Singapore Standards, and other safety and environmental regulations.

- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions.

- Maintain and update safety policies, procedures, and documentation (e.g., RA, SWP, permits).

- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, and prepare reports with corrective actions.

2. Training & Awareness:

- Organize and conduct safety training programs (e.g., fall protection, PPE, hazardous materials, emergency response).

- Ensure all workers and subcontractors complete mandatory safety orientations.

- Promote safety culture through toolbox talks, safety meetings, and awareness campaigns.

3. Environmental & Regulatory Compliance:

- Monitor waste management, spill prevention, and pollution control measures.

- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals).

- Maintain records for environmental permits, inspections, and audits.

4. Emergency Preparedness:

- Develop and implement emergency response plans (fire, chemical spills, medical emergencies).

- Conduct drills (evacuation, first aid, fire safety).

- Ensure availability and maintenance of safety equipment (fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, first aid kits).

5. Reporting & Documentation:

- Maintain EHS records (training logs, inspection reports, incident reports).

- Submit required reports to MOM and Occupiers.

- KPI (Key Performance Indicators) safety performance metrics and suggest improvements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education & Certifications:

- Advanced Certification in Workplace Safety and Health (ACWSH)

Experience:

- 2+ years of EHS experience in the construction industry

Key Skills:

- Strong communication & training abilities.

- Ability to interpret safety regulations and apply them on-site.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
