Main Purpose of the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, EHS to support our client's operations at a high-security marine/defence-related site.

This role may involve a secondment to a strategic partner organisation in Singapore, supporting a confidential, high-impact project in a secure environment. Candidates must be comfortable working within a sensitive and structured framework.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local statutory regulations (e.g. MOM, NEA, SCDF) and international marine EHS standards.
  • Manage EHS policies and procedures, including risk assessments, safety reports, permits, and incident logs.
  • Support and advise project teams, departments, and the workforce to ensure adherence to EHS regulations and internal policies.
  • Conduct daily surveillance of project and site operations to identify risks, ensure compliance, and de-conflict incompatible work activities when required.
  • Enforce safe work procedures and protocols in alignment with the EHS manual to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Liaise with government authorities, contractors, and internal stakeholders on all EHS-related matters.
  • Develop, review, and update the Safety Management System (SMS) and Safe Work Procedures (SWPs).
  • Promote continuous improvement of the workplace safety culture through education, communication, and proactive engagement.

What We're Looking For:

  • Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a relate field.
  • WSQ Advance Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B) or equivalent WSH qualification recognized in Singapore.
  • At least 2 to 4 years of experience in EHS roles, with exposure to marine, shipbuilding or high-security infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and strong understanding of safety governance.
  • Sound knowledge of Singapore's WSH Act and marine industry safety regulations.
  • Certified in First Aid and CPR.
  • Certification in risk assessment and incident investigation is an added advantage.
  • Holds certifications in: Shipyard Safety Supervisor Course, Work-At-Height Assessor, Confined Space Assessor, Hot-Work Assessor.

Additional Information:

  • This position is based at a restricted-access facility shortlisted candidates may be required to undergo security clearance or background checks.
  • This role requires prompt response to emergency situations when activated and being available to work on weekends or public holidays as required by operational or business needs.
