Edge Operations Engineer

Centific Global Solutions is looking for a detail oriented Edge Operations Engineer with strong knowledge of network interconnections and hands-on experience with Network/OTN equipment. This role involves working closely with internal teams, external vendors, and global stakeholders to manage circuit provisioning and ensure smooth operations across different time zones.

Candidates who thrive in fast-paced environments and have experience in the telecommunications or data centre infrastructure industry will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of circuit orders including Move, Add, Change, and Disconnect (MACD) requests
• Issue LOA-CFA and manage cross-connect orders
• Coordinate or directly execute circuit provisioning, delivery, and troubleshooting activities
• Support physical installation of network cabling and perform fault analysis
• Work closely with vendors, system owners, and operations teams to resolve issues
• Track all requests and provide weekly status reports
• Maintain proper documentation for all implementations
• Participate in on-call rotation for ad-hoc troubleshooting
• Support regional maintenance activities when required

Data Accuracy & Inventory Management

• Maintain and improve circuit and spare inventory databases
• Plan and ensure adequate spare levels across sites and warehouses
• Initiate replenishment when stock reaches defined thresholds
• Coordinate site audits via vendors or remote hands
• Update internal documentation and systems as needed

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary point of contact (POC) for vendor-related queries
• Manage inbound/outbound shipments for colocation sites
• Maintain updated records of ISP contacts and circuit details
• Schedule technicians and manage site access requests
• Submit and coordinate remote hands requests for on-site activities
• Conduct regular audits on circuits and inventory

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in data centre or enterprise IT infrastructure
• Familiar with ITIL practices and equipment lifecycle processes
• Experience executing detailed MOPs (Method of Procedures)
• Knowledge of fibre optics, network interfaces, and protocols
• Strong troubleshooting skills (technical and operational)
• Experience coordinating with field engineers, vendors, and telecom/ISP providers
• Basic Linux/Unix CLI and network switch command-line knowledge
• Good communication skills with ability to provide remote support
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading or coordinating technicians, contractors, or vendors
• Exposure to telecom or colocation environments
• Strong planning skills with proactive problem-solving approach
• Excellent documentation and data management skills
• Familiarity with ticketing systems such as JIRA
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Network+, A+, Server+, CDCTP, CDCPM)
