Looking to get your hands dirty in the forest and contribute to ecological design
We are looking for a versatile candidate with strong knowledge of Singapore's biodiversity who is willing to conduct fieldwork and support bioSEA's work in ecological planning and design, habitat restoration, and desktop biodiversity assessments. Knowledge of biodiversity and/or fieldwork experience in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Middle East will be an advantage.

Typical of small teams, the candidate can expect to be involved in multiple projects at any time. This requires agility but allows immense learning opportunities and professional growth.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support bioSEA's ongoing and new projects in areas of biodiversity surveys/impact assessments, which require data collection, analysis, and writing.
- Work with the Director and Landscape Architect(s) in the team to drive the company's projects in areas ofecological planning & design. The candidate should have familiarity with basic ecological principles and be able to translate these to landscape design projects.
- Support bioSEA's work on biodiversity indices, habitat net gain, and ecosystem service assessments.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Degree in biodiversity, ecology, and related fields.
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a relevant field.
- Fresh graduates with a strong track record of industry/nature community stakeholder engagement and/or equivalent skills will be considered under exceptional circumstances.
- Candidate must possess biodiversity-related fieldwork experience.
- Experience in ecological restoration, GIS, and familiarity with R will be an advantage.
- Interest in ecological design work. Familiarity in using design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent will be an advantage.
- A valid driving license in Singapore will be an advantage.

- If you are unfamiliar with ecosystems in Singapore (or Malaysia).
- Environmental engineers with no or little biodiversity fieldwork experience.
- Only desktop experience in GIS/geo-spatial mapping.
- Looking for a role that is only desk-based or only field-based. This comes with both!
