Draftsman

As a Draftsman at Dezign Format, you play a critical role in translating design intent into precise technical drawings that guide fabrication and installation. Working closely with designers, project managers, and production teams, you ensure that creative ideas are accurately detailed, buildable, and aligned with practical constraints.

Your work forms the technical backbone of our design-and-build process across events, exhibitions, and commercial retail fit-outs.

Responsibilities

Technical Drawing & Documentation

. Develop detailed shop drawings for fabrication, including carpentry and metal works, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design specifications.

. Translate design concepts into clear, functional technical drawings.

. Contribute to project documentation and maintain organised drawing archives.

Design Coordination & Feasibility

. Collaborate closely with designers to resolve technical details and construction methods.

. Identify and address potential feasibility issues related to structure, materials, or logistics.

. Ensure designs meet functional, safety, and installation requirements while maintaining aesthetic intent.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

. Work with project managers and production teams to support smooth fabrication and installation.

. Stay updated with industry trends and drafting tools to improve drawing efficiency and quality.

Requirements

Experience & Background

. Minimum 2 years of experience in drafting for events, exhibitions, or commercial & retail fit-out projects.

. Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a relevant field.

Skills & Tools

. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Illustrator.

. Experienced in drafting structural drawings, including carpentry and metal works.

. Strong ability to interpret design briefs and translate them into technical drawings.

Soft Skills

. Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with multiple teams.

. Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy.

. Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with others.
