Draft Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Plan, conceptualize and develop mechanical designs for new products, equipment and pipeline-related services.

• Design and develop prototypes for new mechanical equipment, evaluating product performance and manufacturing processes.

• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, testing and validation of mechanical designs.

• Prepare, review and maintain technical drawings, engineering plans and specifications using CAD software.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors and contractors to ensure successful project execution.

• Utilize Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or SolidWorks for 2D and 3D mechanical design and drafting in accordance with engineering standards.

• Prepare Mechanical Bills of Materials (BOM), technical documentation and engineering reports.

• Develop budget estimates, costing and resource requirements for machine development projects.

• Prepare statistical reports and undertake other ad-hoc engineering duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in mechanical engineering, drafting or pipeline-related industries.

• Experience in mechanical equipment or machinery R&D, with knowledge of mechanical packing seals, cutting tools, hydraulic systems and mechanical assembly being an advantage.

• Advanced proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.

• Ability to perform engineering simulations and analyze test data involving mechanical components, fluid flow and structural stress.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical drawing skills.

• Able to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Willingness to undertake other ad-hoc engineering duties as assigned.
