Job Description

Contract Period: From 1 July 2026 to 31 Dec 2027.

Working hours:
. Mondays, Tuesday & Thursdays: 7:30am to 5:00pm, inclusive of 1 hour lunch break
. Wednesdays: 8:00am to 5:30pm, inclusive of 1 hour lunch break
. Mondays to Thursdays: 09:15am to 6:30pm, inclusive of 45min lunch break
. Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1 hour lunch break
. Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

Scopeof Services:

1. Investigative& Case Support

  • Assist Student Management team (SM team) in conducting preliminary investigations and fact-finding interviews
  • Obtain student and witness statements where appropriate and compile evidence and prepare structured incident reports to relevant KPs for directions
  • Closing the loop by communicating with parents, staff and students

2. Maintaining Strong Discipline tone

  • Walk around school periodically to ensure discipline (for example, checking the stairwells, free-play areas, etc.)
  • Station at canteen during recess/break times to manage students's behaviour (for example, students who cut queue)

3. Detention &Restorative Follow-Up

  • Work with SM team to ensure that students report for detention
  • Supervise detention sessions on Tue, Wed and Thu
  • Engage students meaningfully during detention sessions
  • Maintain attendance and behavioural records during the detention sessions
  • Update and follow up with any detention defaulters

4. In-House Suspension Support

  • Support SM team in managing students sent out of class and on internal suspension.
  • Support learning continuity during suspension through liaising with Year Heads.

5. Reception Duties (Mainly during MOE scheduled School Holidays as listed on MOE website e.g. Mar, Jun, Sep and Year End holidays in Nov & Dec)

  • Manage school front counter services
  • Handling visitors, parents, staff, students, and addressing their needs
  • Handling queries and complaints via phone
  • Taking and ensuring messages are passed to the appropriate staff
  • Transferring calls as necessary
  • Provide general administrative support to the admin office
  • Data entry and any other duties assigned by the school

Reporting Structures and Expectations:

1. Deployment &Reporting

  • The DSO will report operationally to the Student Management Committee
  • Deployment schedule will be determined by the school in accordance with the termly school timetable and school events


Skills and experience:

1) Working Experience

Must have former working experience (preferably more than 3 years) in uniformed service/ educational background (Police, Prison Service, School Discipline Team or equivalent), with involvement in youth-related case investigation and restorative work such as behavioural support.

2) Competencies

  • Calm disposition when handling challenging student situations
  • Firm yet respectful approach when working with students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, teachers, and parents.

3) Technical skills

Comfortable with the use of MS Word, MS Excel, emails, data entry and google online collaborative tools.
