Job Description

Contract Period: From 1 Jul 2026 to 30 Jun 2027 with an option to extend the Contract for a further period of one year

Working hours during school term:
. Mondays to Thursdays: 12:30pm to 5:30pm, exclusive of lunch break
. Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays and school holidays (e.g. YouthDay)

Scope of Services:
1. Investigative & Case Support
. Assist in conducting preliminary investigations and fact-finding interviews
. Obtain student and witness statements where appropriate and compile evidence and prepare structured incident reports to relevant KPs for directions
. Closing the loop by communicating with parents, staff and students

2. Detention & Restorative Follow-Up
. Work with Form teachers to ensure that students report for detention
. Supervise detention sessions on Tue, Wed and Thu
. Ensure that detention rules are kept to during detention session
. Maintain attendance and behavioural records during the detention sessions
. Update and followup with any detention defaulters

Reporting Structures and Expectations:

1. Deployment & Reporting

. TheDSOwill report operationally to the Student Management Committee

. Deploymentschedule will be determined by the school in accordance withthe termly school timetable and school events

2. Performance Expectations

The DSO is expected to:
. Demonstrate professionalism, discretion and good judgment
. Engage students respectfully and constructively
. Uphold confidentiality and procedural fairness
. Collaborate effectively with teachers and SM personnel.

Qualifications, skills and experience:
1) Working Experience
Must have former working experience (preferably more than 5 years) in uniformed service/ educational background (Police, Prison Service, School Discipline Team or equivalent), with involvement in youth-related case investigation and restorative work such as behavioural support.

2) Competencies
Calm and proportionate behavioural intervention
Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism
Accurate incident observation and documentation

3) Engagement Disposition
Firm yet respectful approach when working with students
Ability to build rapport while upholding expectations
Collaborative working style with teachers and SM staff

4) Values & Professional Ethics
Belief in student growth and developmental support
Professional maturity and reliability
Respect for confidentiality and student dignity

5) Technical skills
Comfortable with the use of MS Word, MS Excel, emails, data entry and google online collaborative tools.
