Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Management
- Direct and oversee multiple large-scale rail and road construction projects simultaneously
- Develop and implement comprehensive project execution strategies and delivery plans
- Ensure projects meet all technical specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and contractual obligations
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines, implementing corrective actions when necessary
- Lead project review meetings and provide regular updates to executive management and clients
Team Management & Development
- Manage and mentor construction teams, including project managers, site managers, engineers, and supervisors
- Establish clear performance expectations and conduct regular team assessments
- Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes innovation and continuous improvement
- Recruit, develop, and retain top construction talent across multiple project sites
Stakeholder Relations & Communication
- Serve as primary liaison with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders throughout project lifecycle
- Lead client presentations and participate in business development initiatives
- Coordinate with design teams, consultants, and other project stakeholders
Operational Excellence
- Implement and maintain company construction standards, procedures, and best practices
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies across all projects
Commercial & Financial Management
- Oversee project budgets and financial performance
- Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
- Identify and pursue change management opportunities
- Contribute to tender preparation and bid strategy development
Required Qualifications:
Education & Professional Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification
- Advanced degree (Master's in Construction Management, MBA) preferred
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 15+ years progressive experience in construction management
- 10+ years specific experience in rail and/or road infrastructure projects
- 5+ years in senior leadership roles managing multiple large-scale projects
- Proven track record of delivering projects valued at $300M+
- Experience with Design-Build, PPP, or EPC project delivery methods preferred
Technical Competencies
- Deep understanding of rail and highway construction methodologies
- Proficiency in construction planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project)
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations (AASHTO, AREMA, FRA, DOT standards)
- Familiarity with BIM/3D modeling and digital construction technologies
- Understanding of geotechnical, structural, and transportation engineering principles
