TORAY INTERNATIONAL SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. (TISP) is one of the group companies of Toray Industries, Inc. (TORAY) in Japan. The business segments of TORAY Group include fibers & textiles, performance chemicals, carbon fiber composite materials, environment & engineering, and life science.
TISP was established with the purpose of carrying out the commercial activities of TORAY Group mainly in the ASEAN region and has a wide range of business from raw materials to final consumer goods.
TISP is currently looking for a Director who can take additional roles as Financial Controller and General Manager of General Affairs Department.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
As Director
- To supervise overall administration of the company.
- To provide overall managerial support to the Managing Director.
- To support the Managing Director with governance, operational, and administrative matters to enable effective leadership and strategic decision-making.
- To monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards and mitigate potential risks associated with company operations, including security export control.
- To build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including report to and collaborate with Japan HQ.
- To introduce and interpret items such as group-wide corporate philosophy, corporate slogans, corporate social responsibility and compliance standards of TORAY group to staff members.
- To attend meetings organized by TORAY Head Office or other group companies.
- To liaise with TORAY Head Office and other group companies both in and outside of Japan to plan and execute business strategies.
As Financial Controller
- To supervise Finance Department and Accounting Department.
- To oversee the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the company including financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and financial process management.
- To prepare financial and other reports to TORAY Head Office and other group companies (monthly, quarterly, annually), including group consolidation.
- To prepare internal reports to illustrate the business performance to the Managing Director and related departments (monthly, quarterly, annually).
- To lead the budget process and mid-term plan, including reporting to TORAY Head Office and other group companies.
- To monitor internal controls.
- To control inventory level of goods.
- To control overall expense of the company.
- To approve and monitor bank transactions.
- To conduct or supervise audit processes.
- To control and manage credit limits to customers.
- To manage and strengthen relationships with banks, auditors, corporate secretary and consultants to support sound financial management.
- To coordinate with tax consultants to mitigate risk and manage transfer pricing, VAT, etc.
- To liaise with finance and accounting team of TORAY Head Office and other group companies. To supervise overall administration of the company.
As General Manager of General Affairs Department
- To supervise General Affairs Department.
- To supervise overall administration of the office.
- To manage human resource related matters within the company (wages, benefits, welfare, appraisal, hiring, retirement, etc.).
- To organize internal and external meetings.
- To report general affairs and human resource related matters to TORAY Head Office and related group companies.
REQUIREMENTS
- Candidate must possess at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in the field of Humanities & Social Sciences.
- Have at least 5 years of experience in management, administration, finance, or accounting in chemical manufacturing or related industries, preferably within multinational corporations.
- General knowledge of management, administration, finance, accounting, general affairs, human resource, insurance, trading, economy, related laws, risk management, and corporate social responsibility.
- High commitment to achieve company goals and group-wide goals.
- Ability to analyze financial figures precisely.
- Excellent reporting skills.
- Must be willing to travel to surrounding countries or other countries including Japan.
- Language requirements: English (business level) and Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Level N1 or native level of Japanese proficiency is required to liaise closely with Japan HQ and attend the Group conferences.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to cooperate with multinational counterparts both internal and external.
- Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint skills required to deliver reports and presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge and experience to handle internal computer systems such as SAP.
