Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Thin Film Module Engineering to lead the Thin Film organization in a high-volume 300mm semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving process excellence, yield improvement, technology transfer, operational performance, and team development across Thin Film processes. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Process Integration, Manufacturing, Equipment Engineering, Quality, and R&D to support advanced semiconductor technologies and manufacturing objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Thin Film Module Engineering team in a 300mm wafer fabrication environment.
- Drive process optimization, yield improvement, defect reduction, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Support new technology development, qualification, and transfer into high-volume production.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve product performance and manufacturing stability.
- Establish robust process control strategies using SPC, DOE, FDC, APC, and statistical analysis.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions for process excursions.
- Collaborate with Equipment Engineering to improve tool reliability, uptime, and productivity.
- Develop long-term technical roadmaps aligned with manufacturing and business objectives.
- Manage engineering resources, budgets, and capital planning.
- Mentor engineering leaders and build a high-performing technical organization.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Ideal Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline. A Master's or PhD is preferred.
- 15+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience, including extensive experience in a 300mm wafer fabrication environment.
- Strong technical expertise in Thin Film processes such as PVD, CVD, PECVD, ALD, LPCVD, HDP, and metal or dielectric deposition.
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering managers and multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor process integration, yield enhancement, process control methodologies, and statistical analysis.
- Experience leading technology transfer, production ramp-up, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment with cross-functional and global teams.
