Job Summary
As Director of Strategy & Investment, you will lead strategic planning, market analysis, and investment activities to drive growth in global gaming markets. Collaborate with senior leadership to shape competitive strategies and execute high-impact transactions.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of annual and multi-year strategic plans by translating market insights into clear priorities and actionable roadmaps
- Analyze global gaming industry trends, competitive landscape, emerging technologies (AI, cloud gaming, live services), and regulatory changes to inform senior leadership decisions
- Prepare executive-level strategy presentations, market analyses, and competitive benchmarking reports for leadership team
- Facilitate strategic planning across business units to align priorities, allocate resources, and set key milestones
- Identify and prioritize strategic investment and M&A opportunities aligned with company growth objectives, managing processes from screening to investment committee presentations
- Lead due diligence workstreams including commercial, financial, and operational assessments, coordinating with legal, finance, and external advisors
- Support post-deal integration planning and monitor portfolio investments strategic and financial performance
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships such as IP licensing, co-development, publishing deals, and platform collaborations
- Advise product and commercial teams on strategy to connect long-term goals with daily business decisions
- Manage relationships with investors, partners, industry bodies, and government stakeholders to support business development
Required competencies and certifications
- Proven skills in strategic analysis, financial modelling, and investment evaluation within gaming, technology, or media industries
- Solid knowledge of M&A transaction processes, deal structures, and due diligence workflows
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills to distill complex data into clear, executive-ready insights and recommendations
- Strong project management skills to lead multiple workstreams independently and meet deadlines
- Collaborative mindset with ability to work effectively across functions and with senior stakeholders
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- MBA or Finance degree preferred
- Experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or private equity/venture capital
- Direct exposure to gaming industry dynamics including game development cycles, monetisation models, and live service operations
- Experience supporting cross-border transactions in Southeast Asia or other high-growth markets
- Prior experience at McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or a bulge-bracket investment bank
- Exposure to AI, cloud gaming, or emerging technology investment theses
