Develop, implement, and maintain IT governance frameworks, policies, and standards specific to the India country operations.
Ensure compliance with SMBC Group IT policies, industry standards, and RBI regulatory requirements.
Establish governance bodies such as IT steering committees to improve collaboration with India subsidiaries, like SMICC
Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes impacting IT governance.
Strategic IT Planning:
Working with Lead of ID-ITG to develop and implement IT strategy aligned with SMBC Global IT and India Division business priorities.
Collaborate with business leaders and IT stakeholders in APAC and HO to identify technology needs and propose IT initiatives prioritization
Drive technology and architecture alignement where possible across Indian entities
Developing Technology budget in line with the laid down business and technology strategy. Budget tracking and refresh on an ongoing basis as a response to changing demand and drive cost efficiencies across the technology landscape.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure IT operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal audit requirements.
Coordinate IT audits and implement remediation plans for any identified gaps.
Project and Portfolio Management:
Oversee project governance to ensure delivery excellence, scope control, and alignment with strategic objectives.
Track and report on IT project portfolio status, risks, and benefits realization
Manage resource allocation, capacity planning, and vendor relationships.
Stakeholder Management:
Serve as a key liaison between HO IT, APAC IT, Indian subsidiaries and external partners.
Communicate IT governance and planning updates to senior management and executive leadership.
Requirements:
10-15 years experience in IT strategy, system planning, and governance frameworks (e.g.COBIT) within financial services industry (Singapore and/or India preferred).
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to liaise with the Group companies.
Handson experience with legal entity transformation in regulated markets.
Familiarity with Regulators (eg.RBI/SEBI) and knowledge of DR/BCP and information security controls.
Proven crossfunctional and crossborder leadership; vendor negotiation and portfolio governance.
