POSITION SUMMARY
Stella Orient Pte. Ltd. is seeking a high-caliber, visionary, and commercially driven executive for the role of Director. As a key leadership figure at our Singapore headquarters, the Director will provide overall strategic direction, drive revenue growth across our trading and project financing arms, and manage key corporate operations.
The Director will hold P&L accountability, oversee cross-functional team operations, expand our regional network in Southeast Asia, and ensure regulatory and legal compliance under Singapore corporate standards. This role requires an established leader who excels in high-stakes negotiations, deal structuring in energy or industrial sectors, and financial management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
- Define and execute the overall business growth strategy for Stella Orient, aligning corporate objectives with market opportunities in energy trading, chemical distribution, and project financing.
- Identify, evaluate, and capture high-value commercial ventures, international trade opportunities, and project financing engagements across target markets in Southeast Asia and beyond.
- Lead business development initiatives to expand Stella Orient's footprint, building strong partnerships with major manufacturers, refineries, financial institutions, and government bodies.
2. Operations & P&L Management
- Assume full ownership of the company's P&L, budget forecasting, capital allocation, and operational profitability.
- Oversee core operational tracks, ensuring seamless integration between trading operations, project engineering teams, and financial services.
- Optimize supply chain, logistics, and procurement processes for refined petroleum products, industrial chemicals, and heavy equipment.
3. Deal Structuring, Risk & Project Financing
- Structure and lead complex financial arrangements for large-scale energy and heavy industry projects.
- Establish robust risk management frameworks to mitigate market volatility, counterparty risks, currency exposures, and credit risks inherent in global commodities trading.
- Conduct due diligence and financial appraisal on potential project engineering investments and long-term supply contracts.
4. Corporate Governance & Stakeholder Relations
- Maintain full regulatory compliance with Singapore statutory authorities (ACRA, IRAS, Enterprise Singapore) and international trade laws.
- Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors, financial institutions, legal advisors, external auditors, and strategic partners.
- Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and ethical governance across all corporate levels.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
. Education:
○ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, International Trade, Energy Management, or Engineering from a recognized university.
. Professional Experience:
○ Minimum of 10 to 15 years of senior management or executive-level experience in international trading, project financing, energy/chemicals, or heavy industries.
○ Proven track record of P&L ownership, deal structuring, and corporate scale-up within Singapore or the Asia-Pacific region.
○ Deep understanding of physical commodities trading (refined petroleum, industrial chemicals) and international trade finance mechanisms (Letters of Credit, trade credit insurance, structured trade finance).
. Key Skills & Attributes:
○ Executive Negotiation: Outstanding track record of negotiating high-value international trade agreements and joint-venture structures.
○ Financial Acumen: Strong proficiency in corporate finance, project valuation, credit evaluation, and treasury management.
○ Cross-Functional Leadership: Ability to lead matrixed teams spanning commercial, technical/engineering, legal, and financial functions.
○ Strategic Vision: Strong capability to navigate volatile market landscapes and identify emerging opportunities in industrial development and energy transitions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
. Prior experience working within or managing a Singapore Exempt Private Limited entity or regional trading firm.
. Established networks among energy producers, chemical manufacturers, project developers, and financial institutions in Southeast Asia.
. Familiarity with Singapore's international trade incentives, tax regulations, and e-invoicing/compliance networks.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
. Monthly Remuneration: SGD15,000 per month
. Variable Bonus: Performance-linked executive incentive bonus based on corporate profitability and key milestone delivery.
