Summary of Position:

The Director of Sales and Marketing (APAC) is an integral member of the SPS APAC Board.

The role requires an individual with a strategic vision and demonstrable new logo business wins. The incumbent will be an accomplished solution selling professional and a visionary leader who can build, motivate, and develop successful teams. The Sales & Marketing Director accomplishes business development activities by researching; developing marketing opportunities and plans; implementing sales plans; managing staff.

Job Description

  • The Sales/ marketing Director proactively manages, drives, and coaches direct reports to consistently achieve sales targets, dealing effectively with underperformance staff and supporting training interventions as well as maintaining the Development Plans for top performers. He/ She provides a vision and clear direction to inspire individuals and engage others to deliver excellence.
  • With support from the Leadership team, he/ she implements the new business strategy and creates a structure which is optimised to deliver this success. This will include driving consistency across the region new business sales teams and working very closely with the Operational teams to ensure all areas of the sales process (including handover) are fully optimised.
  • Assist the MD in determining annual and gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products; analysing trends and results; establishing pricing strategies; recommending selling prices; monitoring costs, competition, supply, and demand.
  • Be responsible for the execution of the Asia Marketing strategy. He/ she will work closely with the Asia MD the UK Head of Marketing and the Global SPS marketing team to develop a marketing plan to support the overall go to market message of SPS in the UKI market. This to include lead generation activities and coordination of SPS attendance at event, seminars, and conferences to promote and improve SPS market engagement.
  • He/ she works closely with and collaborates with the SPS UKI EWS Sales Director and Head of Innovation supporting and sharing marketing activities and new business opportunities pursuit support as a key member of the UKI Leadership Team.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Interprets trends in the market and that of their competitors to increase market share and gain a competitive advantage.
  • Charged with setting performance and revenue targets that are challenging, attainable and consistent with objectives.
  • Creates an inclusive climate which encourages the generation of ideas for new business opportunities for new and enhanced products and services and for other changes that would make the organisation more effective, efficient, or profitable.
  • Discovers, plans, and executes on commercial opportunities at a local level to enhance sales and build customer loyalty, ensuring all business standards are met.
  • Plans and runs team forecast meetings and meetings with wider team.
  • Drives efficient and productive sales activities.
  • Regular coaching through 121s/daily contact with team

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Team player who can contribute strategically as a member of the management board.
  • A proven background in driving high performance new business teams within a B2B organisation.
  • A consistent record of high overachievement on sales and business targets.
  • Experience of managing managers/multiple teams across various locations.
  • Strong understanding of Sales Teams Analytics (e.g., performance reports)
  • Natural leadership and the ability to inspire trust and confidence in their teams.
  • Proven people-management experience gained within a solutions sales environment.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills at all levels of business.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and perform under high pressure.
  • The ability to inspire trust and confidence in their teams and amongst customers.
  • A strong ability in motivating, coaching, and developing Sales Managers.
  • A detailed understanding of pricing and discount strategy.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills.
  • A general understanding of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • A good understanding of the recruitment market in the UK would be advantageous but not essential.

Dimension of the Position

Reports to Position Title: APAC Managing Director

Scope of Responsibility:

  • Designing the strategic plan for the Sales and Marketing approach in the APAC market
  • Strategic development of the APAC business
  • Travel to SPS and prospective client locations throughout APAC & some international travel is required
