Setup and lead the central procurement office (CPO) team for the APAC region, with global alignment with other regions.
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals to optimize cost and deliver quality results.
Setup and oversee end-to-end procurement processes and related policies from requisition, sourcing, vendor selection, negotiation, contract management, purchasing, to vendor management, review and evaluation.
Lead and manage the procurement team, setting objectives and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships and setup performance targets to ensure continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand and coordinate procurement activities.
Monitor market trends, vendor innovations, and emerging risks to recommend strategic adjustments as necessary.
Ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in compliance with APAC and Head Office policies, procedures, ESG and ethical standards.
Prepare reports and analysis on procurement performance and metrics to senior management.
Job Requirements
Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field. A Master's Degree or MBA will be viewed favorably.
Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), or equivalent is advantageous.
7 to 12 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in banking, finance or IT, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor management skills.
Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities to translate business needs into actionable deliverables within the procurement space.
Proven leadership and team management experience, with in-depth knowledge of setting up and organizing the APAC procurement team.
Experience in the implementation of procurement processes, with alignment to legal and compliance requirements, as well as ESG and ethical standards.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills to build consensus and influence change.
