Job Description
Position: Director of Nursing
Sector: Premier Acute Care Hospital
Location: Singapore
Drive clinical excellence and shape the future of patient care as Director of Nursing. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as a core member of the Executive Management Team, you will provide strategic vision, operational leadership, and executive governance across all nursing divisions to foster a world-class, patient-centric healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with executive leadership to guide hospital strategy, policy formulation, and operational growth in alignment with exemplary standards of care and ethical governance.
Clinical Excellence & Safety: Oversee nursing care standards across key specialized units-including Operating Theatres, ICU/HDU, Maternity/NICU, and Medical/Surgical/Paediatric wards-ensuring high-quality outcomes and continuous service improvement.
Governance & Compliance: Partner closely with the Medical Advisory Board (MAB), manage physician/patient feedback, and ensure strict adherence to Ministry of Health (MOH) and Health Sciences Authority (HSA) statutory regulations.
Talent Development & Mentorship: Drive staff development, succession planning, and continuous education initiatives; partner with tertiary nursing institutions to optimize clinical placements and cultivate future healthcare leaders.
Infection Prevention & Control: Lead the hospital's Infection Control team to implement proactive strategies that safeguard patients, staff, and the healthcare environment.
Resource & Financial Management: Direct department budgets, optimize resource allocation, and oversee the procurement and upgrading of modern medical equipment.
Requirements
Professional Registration: Full registration as a Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
Education: Tertiary qualification in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Executive Management.
Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive clinical management experience within an acute care hospital environment, including unit leadership roles.
Core Competencies: Exceptional leadership presence, strategic vision, strong financial acumen, and outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
