Position Overview
The Director of Marketing Communications leads the team and is required to create, implement and oversee communications programs both internal and external that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products. The individual performs a variety of tasks, such as the creation and development of print and online advertising, email marketing, web site management and content development, press releases, by lined articles, white papers, corporate videos and marketing collateral, RFP review and development, marketing budget development and cost tracking, aid in the preparation of presentations and/or speeches for the hotel.
The Role
Marketing Communications and Public Relations
- Cultivate positive media relationships to promote and protect property's brand and image
- Develop customer engagement strategies via social media and digital platforms
- Formulate objectives and lead the development of communication plans
- Guide formulation of responses to address negative or controversial comments in the social media
- Lead formulation of replies to media queries
Manage Brand Equity
- Evaluate communication plans for brand guidelines
- Guide market research to identify market awareness and brand association
- Lead development of brand guidelines according to overall brand image
- Lead development of strategies to enhance brand reputation and achieve positive brand equity
- Review reputation risk exposure across business units to minimise business impact
Developing Marketing Strategies
- Drive market positioning strategies for the identified market segments
- Evaluate marketing channels to reach target customer and market segments marketing and public relations and to increase e-commerce traffic and brand's presence
- Guide market research and analyses to identify marketing opportunities and strategies
- Lead collaboration with key stakeholders to develop marketing strategies and plans
- Lead review of website and social media data to increase e-commerce traffic and brand's presence
- Lead the formulation of data-driven commercial insights to support the development of marketing plans
Manage Marketing Campaigns and Events
- Develop marketing themes through collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Guide development and production of all marketing communications publications and collaterals
- Lead conceptualisation of marketing campaigns across traditional, digital and social media platforms
- Lead enhancement of customer engagement and experience across traditional, digital and social media platforms and customer touch points
- Lead evaluation of marketing campaigns performance for improvement
- Manage working relationships with vendors, PR and creative agencies
- Review marketing campaign plans for alignment with brand and marketing strategies
- Review quality of marketing collaterals and paraphernalia
Partnerships
- Work closely together with Senior Director Private Clients and Partnerships to develop and implement strategic partnership plans to expand company's market reach and enhance its competitive position.
- Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements, ensuring terms meet organizational objectives and compliance standards.
- Identify, evaluate and prioritize potential partners based on alignment with company goals, market potential and strategic fit.
- Monitor and analyze partnership performance metrics, adjusting strategies as necessary to maximize effectiveness and ROI.
Manage Team
- Supervise, support and lead the Marketing Communications Team.
- Present marketing communications reports and recommendations for management updates and decision-making
- Identify training needs of the department and implement a training plan in conjunction with the department heads to close gaps
- Be involved in career progression and succession planning of colleagues
- Support and actively participate in the planning and execution of the hotel's overall colleagues development and retention efforts
Talent Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or Communications
- Minimum of 5 years experience in similar capacity
- Prior experience in managing a team
- Self-starter, results oriented, creative, interpersonal skills, detailed oriented, organized, articulate, reliable, motivator, decisive and flexible
