Role Description
The Director of Logistics is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and management of the organization's logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution. This senior leadership role ensures efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of goods while aligning with overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing logistics strategies and policies
- Managing transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations
- Optimizing supply chain processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency
- Overseeing vendor and carrier relationships, contracts, and negotiations
- Ensuring compliance with local and international regulations and safety standards
- Monitoring logistics KPIs and preparing performance reports for senior management
- Coordinating with procurement, supply chain, and operations teams
- Driving process improvements, automation, and technology adoption in logistics
- Managing logistics budgets and forecasting resource requirements
- Leading, mentoring, and developing logistics teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Extensive experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management at a senior level
- Strong knowledge of logistics operations, warehouse management, and distribution networks
- Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in logistics and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS systems)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in cost management, vendor negotiations, and process optimization
