The Director of ICT is responsible for all aspects of ICT in the school and leads the development and implementation of the school's ICT strategy. This includes managing ICT systems, infrastructure and support as well as the use of ICT in teaching & learning. In carrying out this role they are expected to:
Leading the School's Digital Strategy:
14. Supervising the ICT Department:
a. Ensuring that the school's appraisal procedures are followed within the department.
b. Identify any professional development needs for the ICT department and recommend certifications/qualifications if required.
c. Ensuring that communication between the ICT Department and teaching staff is excellent.
d. Ensuring that the school's operational and educational systems are set up, managed and maintained effectively.
e. Providing necessary support in the development of the school website.
f. Management of student and staff email accounts.
g. Ensuring that the school network infrastructure, servers and workstations are operating effectively.
h. Ensuring that the network is operational during access hours and appropriate back-up protocols are implemented.
i. Implementing a regular ICT maintenance programme and procedures to resolve failures in hardware and software.
j. Providing oversight and strategic management of the school's Hardware Systems,
including:

l. Ensuring that the ICT Department comply with all data protection protocol and regulation:
Enrichment
15. Liaise with Curriculum Coordinators and Heads of Department to provide technical and AV support with internal and community events, as required.
Crisis Management
16. Responsibility for oversight of all network and systems operation within the school.
Crisis Management Handbook and specifically:
a. Comply with policies and procedures relating to crisis management, child protection, health, safety, welfare, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting any concerns to the appropriate person.
b. Actively support the school and its policies.
c. Communicate in a timely manner, any planned upgrades/maintenance on the school network to the school community, as appropriate.
Budgeting
17. Plan and manage the technology budget as required by the school's Senior team, guiding purchasing decisions and investments, establishing good relationships with suppliers (and potential suppliers), ensuring the school receives competitive quotations. Working and planning with Senior Team to identify professional development.
Other additional responsibilities:
18. Stays abreast of new developments in technology by attending technology learning conferences, participating in online educational communities, reading current technology literature, and testing new hardware and software.
19. Write termly reports for the Principal.
20. Create an onsite 24hr rota for management and maintenance of all systems to ensure systems are up to date and active even during holiday periods.
21. Contribute to the student and staff induction process to ensure new members of the school community are informed of systems, credentials and receive training, as required.
22. Work with the pastoral and digital strategy teams to deliver parental information sessions regarding e-safety and other.
Safeguarding
23. Abide by the school safeguarding policy and keep abreast of any changes.
