Responsibilities

  • Managing the Human Resources Department on a daily basis and the implementation of the company's people philosophy throughout the hotel.
  • Be the heart of all employee-related initiatives, issues and activities within the hotel and the guardian of the company culture.
  • Formulate a Human Resources strategy in line with the brand's vision, mission and values.
  • Maintain efficient staffing levels and payroll expenditure, helping Department Heads to maximize productivity by multi-skill and multi-task in order to minimize unnecessary payroll costs.
  • Prepare the annual budget and manning guide in close co-operation with Director of Finance and General Manager.
  • Leads and motivates team drive the people agenda in recruitment, training and mentoring, learning and development as well as reviewing team members performance.
  • Ensure that all Human Resources Practices are complete and in keeping with legal practices, Policies & Procedures and the philosophy of Artyzen Hotels and Resorts
  • Formulate and implement an effective talent management strategy, which maximizes potential and satisfies our present and future manpower needs.
  • Research and propose competitive compensation and benefits package according to the market situation and trends, and review on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that a strong Employee Communication programme is implemented both on a hotel level as well as Departmental levels, that maximizes employee's awareness of Artyzen Hotels and Resorts s Objectives, Philosophy and Operating Concepts.
  • Initiate and facilitate transfer of skills and knowledge and foster a culture of talent development.
  • Establish a professional network of Human Resources and Training Specialists from competitive hotels and other Industries.
  • Other ad-hoc assignments and projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8-10 years of hotel HR experience, preferably with exposure to luxury/upscale hospitality. Must be able to sit with GM/ExCom and translate business priorities into people
  • Strong understanding of manpower productivity, EFTE, labour cost, scheduling, recruitment and retention. Able to balance service standards with financial targets and provide data-driven recommendations to ExCom.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a strong hotel culture, engagement, leadership development, succession planning and employer branding. Should be visible and credible with both HODs and rank-and-file colleagues
  • Sound knowledge of Singapore Employment Act, MOM requirements, Progressive Wage Model, Tripartite Guidelines, disciplinary processes and employee relations. Able to manage sensitive cases with maturity, fairness and confidentiality.
  • Comfortable with HR analytics, process improvement and digitalisation, with the mindset to simplify and improve processes rather than merely maintain existing practices to drive workforce transformation and productivity.
  • Firm but fair, people-focused but commercially grounded, with strong influencing skills. Must be able to challenge HODs constructively, gain trust from employees and work effectively with Corporate, Owners and the GM
  • Passionate and enthusiastic with a positive can-do attitude.
