The Beverage Director is responsible for overseeing the entire beverage operation at The American Club Singapore, ensuring the highest standards of service, quality, and profitability are met across all bars and beverage-related services. This role requires a dynamic leader who is knowledgeable in beverage trends, enjoys creating exceptional customer experiences, and can manage a team effectively while driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Beverage Program Management:
- Develop, implement, and oversee the Club's beverage program, including cocktails, wine lists, spirits, and non-alcoholic offerings, ensuring they align with the Club's overall brand and member experience.
- Curate seasonal beverage menus that reflect member preferences, current trends, and innovative options.
- Introduce and manage exclusive beverages, creating signature cocktails and developing beverage pairings with menu items.
Team Leadership & Training:
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of bartenders and beverage staff, ensuring they provide exceptional service to all members and guests.
- Conduct regular training sessions on product knowledge, service techniques, and safety standards, including responsible alcohol service.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, high performance, and accountability within the beverage team.
Inventory and Cost Control:
- Manage beverage inventories and oversee stock ordering, ensuring the appropriate levels of products are maintained.
- Monitor and control beverage costs, ensuring the department adheres to budget guidelines and drives profitability.
- Regularly review suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
Guest Experience:
- Provide exceptional service to members and guests by anticipating their needs and ensuring a superior experience at all beverage-related service points.
- Resolve member concerns and feedback regarding beverage offerings or service in a prompt and professional manner.
- Ensure that all beverages served meet quality standards and consistency.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations related to beverage service, including alcohol service laws.
- Enforce the responsible service of alcohol, ensuring that all staff members adhere to legal and company standards.
Marketing & Promotions:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop beverage promotions, events, and seasonal campaigns that align with member preferences.
- Regularly engage with members to gather feedback and tailor beverage offerings to meet evolving tastes.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for beverage service, including sales, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Provide regular reports to the Director of Food & Beverage on performance, trends, and recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications:
- Education: A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in beverage management, with at least 2 years in a leadership position, preferably in a high-end or club environment.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails, and current beverage trends.
