We're seeking a Director of Network Cybersecurity to lead strategy, architecture, and innovation, guide adoption of security frameworks across diverse telecom domains, evaluate emerging technologies, and foster collaboration to strengthen resilience and regulatory readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to design and evolve the network security strategy and framework, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, risk appetite, and industry trends.
- Provide thought leadership to enhance resilience, scalability, and regulatory readiness across the enterprise.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive network security architecture framework that integrates recognised standards and best practices.
- Ensure consistent adoption of security principles across multiple domains (core, access, transport, cloud, edge) to strengthen operational resilience and overall security posture.
- Evaluate and provide guidance on new technologies and trends such as 6G, AI-driven networks, and networks supporting AI.
- Analyse how evolving security requirements will influence - and be influenced by - the design, deployment, and operation of these technologies.
- Present complex technical insights in a clear, actionable format for senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across operating companies and regional partners in the network security domain.
- Establish communities of practice, forums, and platforms to share expertise, lessons learned, and incident insights.
- Drive a culture of proactive risk management, continuous improvement, and collective accountability for security.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in telecommunications networks, with deep expertise in network cybersecurity across large-scale, carrier-grade environments.
- Proven track record in technical leadership, architecture, or strategy roles within telco network settings.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement network security frameworks and architectures across multiple domains.
- Hands-on experience applying standards and methodologies (e.g., 3GPP, ETSI, NIST, ISO/IEC, Zero Trust, Security by Design) into practical, deployable controls.
- Experience collaborating with or influencing regional operating companies, balancing group-level governance with local regulatory and operational requirements.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as quantum-safe security, 5G/6G, network virtualisation, cloud-native networks, AI-enabled networks, and automation.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications network architectures and protocols across fixed, mobile, IP, transport, and cloud-native network environments.
- Ability to lead through influence in a matrixed environment, collaborating across multiple operating companies, functions, and geographies without direct authority.
