Job Description

. Position Summary

The Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and corporate governance direction for the company.

The role encompasses overall accountability for business performance, profitability, compliance, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and long-term corporate sustainability.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Strategic Leadership & Corporate Direction

  • Develop and execute the company's strategic business plans aligned with shareholder objectives.
  • Lead business growth initiatives, market expansion, and diversification strategies.
  • Evaluate mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and investment opportunities.
  • Provide direction on pricing, market positioning, and competitive strategy.

B. Financial Stewardship & Performance Management

  • Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Ensure strong financial controls, cost management, and cash flow optimisation.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), profitability margins, and return on investment.
  • Present financial and operational performance updates to the board.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (ACRA, IRAS, MOM, CPF, etc.).

C. Operations & Business Management

  • Oversee daily business operations, including sales, procurement, warehouse, logistics, and customer service.
  • Ensure operational efficiency, inventory control, and supply chain effectiveness.
  • Approve major capital expenditure and procurement decisions.
  • Drive digitalisation, system improvements, and process optimisation.

D. Corporate Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to statutory regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Uphold ethical business practices and corporate governance principles.
  • Oversee risk management frameworks, including operational, financial, and regulatory risks.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) and relevant ISO standards (if applicable).

E. Human Capital & Leadership

  • Lead and mentor the senior management team.
  • Approve organisational structure and manpower planning.
  • Ensure effective succession planning and leadership development.
  • Foster a high-performance, accountable, and values-driven culture.
  • Approve remuneration frameworks and performance incentives.

F. Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Represent the Company in key negotiations with suppliers, customers, banks, auditors, and regulators.
  • Maintain strong relationships with strategic partners and government agencies.
  • Act as corporate spokesperson when required.

G. Risk & Crisis Management

  • Lead business continuity planning.
  • Manage crisis situations, including operational disruptions, compliance issues, or reputational risks.
  • Ensure adequate insurance coverage and risk mitigation measures.

3. Authority Limits

  • Authority to enter into contracts, approve expenditures, and make operational decisions within limits approved by the Board.
  • Authority to hire, discipline, or terminate employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Authority to approve commercial terms within delegated limits.

  • Revenue growth and profitability targets
  • Net profit before tax (NPBT)
  • Gross margin performance
  • Operational efficiency metrics
  • Working capital management
  • Compliance and audit results
  • Employee retention and engagement levels
