Job Description

Responsibility

  • Assist with the establishment of a licensed insurance broker in Japan.
  • Support the Executive Director, Head of Japan to manage and grow Japanese business.
  • To identify and act upon new business opportunities which promote the profitable development of the business.
  • To facilitate the prompt placement of (re)insurance contracts in accordance with the client's requirements and needs, in a timely manner in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • To provide quality service to clients covering all aspects of their arrangements to advise, arrange and secure the appropriate coverages.
  • Meet the financial and operational targets set for the department.
  • Promote effective and regular communication across the wider business.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with the Company's Rules, Procedures and other management instructions, in particular with regard to:
  1. The conduct and recording of business
  2. Confirmations and evidencing of cover
  3. Recording and filing of all communications and discussions
  4. The safeguarding of client monies
  5. The escalation and reporting of breaches, errors & omissions, disputes and complaints
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure a coordinated approach is adopted.
  • Reporting to the line manager on a timely manner to update on the performance and ensure the line manager is made aware of:
  1. Any matter which might expose the Company to a claim, legal action or regulatory action/investigation.
  2. Any serious disciplinary cases.
  • Research industry trend/movement through industrial papers, FSA, BIBA, local insurers etc. and to share them with the Company.

Representing Price Forbes

  • Understand the Company's short, mid and long-term strategy, targeting business/project, business plan, budget etc.
  • Visit and meet the Client's JIA clients/prospects domiciled outside Japan and to get information on their JIA business/project and
  • Research new business/project through industrial papers, internet etc.
  • Share information on clients and their JIA business/project with PF without soliciting Japanese beneficiaries who are insured under insurance policies.

  • Represent Price Forbes with clients, agents, suppliers and other organizations.

Legal. Risk and Compliance

  • Comply with relevant legal, regulatory and compliance requirements, E&O compliance procedures and quality initiatives.
  • Escalation of any potential E&O's to Department Head/ Directors at the earliest opportunity.
  • Ensure completion of all mandatory Company training and to deadline.

Your scope of duties is not restrictive and may be expanded at the company's discretion.
