ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director, Information Technology is a mission-critical and strategic role and will be expected to contribute substantially to the strategic direction, growth, sustained high performance and market leading customer preference as a successful leader and key part of the Leadership Team.
As Director of Information Technology you will be accountable for the vision, strategy, and leadership to deliver and support all information technology initiatives. The role oversees the entire information technology and communications portfolio across entire corporations, along with leading the Business Improvement team that drives corporation's lean management continuous improvement programmed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Developing and implementing IT strategies that support the company's overall business objectives.
. Leading and motivating the IT team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
. Overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and security systems.
. Managing the IT budget, including cost analysis, forecasting, and procurement.
. Ensuring data security, privacy, and compliance with industry regulations and standards.
. Working with other departments and senior management to align IT initiatives with business needs.
. Monitoring IT performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices.
. Staying up to date with the latest technologies and trends and recommending new solutions to enhance the organization's IT capabilities.
. Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by management.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
. A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is essential.
. Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the shipowner or shipping sectors.
. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate the IT team.
. Ability to develop and implement long-term IT strategies that support the company's overall goals.
. In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, security, and best practices.
. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
. Understanding of business operations and how IT can support and improve them.
. Ability to manage the IT budget and financial performance.
. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, and adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
