[What the role is]
As the Director of Eco-Campus Solutions & Services, you will lead and oversee initiatives related to NYP Campus Master Plan, which includes sustainability considerations when implementing environmental stewardship, deployment of solutions and services to deliver effective and efficient facilities management, with compliance to whole of government and Singapore requirements. You will be responsible for the overall campus experience, creating an eco-friendly and inclusive environment for various stakeholders.
[What you will be working on]
Eco-Campus Solutions & Sustainability
NYP Campus Masterplan:
- Joint leadership with various key stakeholders, to develop an overarching NYP Campus Masterplan with emphasis on stakeholder experience, environment and social sustainability.
- Lead in the design and development of implementation roadmap for NYP Campus Masterplan with key strategic initiatives and milestones.
Campus Rejuvenation:- Oversee the implementation of NYP Campus Rejuvenation with alignment to NYP Campus Masterplan and sustainability goals (i.e. Singapore Green Plan).
- Pro-active engagement with stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans for efficient utilisation of space, energy, and resources.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance the overall workplace and learning experience for staff and learners, with environmental solutions and services to support operational and learning needs.
Sustainability Planning & Implementation:- Pro-active contributions as pillar lead in the NYP Sustainability Committee to spearhead strategic initiatives to drive innovations and develop a sustainable campus.
- Champion initiatives that enhance environmental sustainability, including energy efficiency, waste reduction and green building practices in alignment with the Singapore Green Plan.
- Partner schools and corporate departments in engaging industry, staff and students to use NYP as a platform to ideate, design, develop and deploy eco-friendly solutions to enhance environmental sustainability and foster a culture of innovation.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainable campus management and pro-actively share new developments with members of NYP Sustainability Committee.
Facilities Management
Facilities Operations:- Oversee facilities maintenance, repairs, and renovations of buildings to ensure a safe and functional work and learning environment.
- Oversee security, cleaning, waste management, and landscaping services.
- Develop and maintain response plans and procedures to address emergencies such as fires, natural disasters or security threats and ensure continuity of essential services.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and sustainability initiatives within the estates and facilities management function.
- Manage lease contracts i.e. canteen stalls, vending machines, cafe, etc.
- Provide regular reports and updates to Senior Management on the performance and status of estates and facilities management activities.
- Manage budgets, resources, and contracts related to estates and facilities management activities.
- Lead a team of facilities professionals, including maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors, to deliver high-quality services in facilities maintenance and productivity enhancements by leveraging data and digital initiatives, to ensure smooth operation of the campus and car parks and timely completion of projects, according to statutory compliance.
- Lead and foster strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders such as outsourced vendors, operators, tenants, and security guards, promoting continuous improvement.
Workplace Safety and Health (WSH):
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Conversant with the WSH Act and Biz Safe Framework and lead the implementation of the WSH best practices in the workplace.
- Lead performance evaluations on WSH non-compliance, unsafe work conditions and practices to identify performance gaps and rectification approach.
- Establish close collaborations and liaisons with site operations staff (e.g. canteen and childcare centre operators) and project managers on all safety and health issues, in compliance to statutory guidelines.
Special Projects (depending on needs):
- Lead or support the design, implementation, or review of key projects both internally to NYP or externally at the Polytechnics and ITE (POLITE) or WOG levels, especially nascent initiatives that cut across schools and departments.
[What we are looking for]
- Relevant Engineering Qualifications (e.g. environmental science, facilities management, sustainability).
- Minimum of 10 years of working experience in environmental management, estate/facilities management, and/or sustainability roles, preferably with exposure to tertiary institutions.
- Minimum 3 years of senior leadership position in estate/facilities management, preferably leading a team to design and develop site masterplan and/or rejuvenation for the employer or its client.
- Familiarity with fire safety management, Green Mark, Energy Trends, Environmental Sustainability and Smart Campus
- Proficiency in project and stakeholders management, as well as contracts management.
