About Our Client
Our client is a well-established single-family office with a diversified investment portfolio across multiple asset classes and geographies. Empower Partners has been exclusively retained to support this confidential search.
As part of its continued growth, the family office is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee operations, governance, finance, and investment support functions, ensuring the effective execution of its strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the family office, ensuring efficient execution of strategic and investment objectives
• Partner closely with principals to support the implementation and monitoring of investment strategies
• Lead financial management activities, including budgeting, reporting, treasury oversight, and financial controls
• Establish and maintain robust governance, risk management, and operational control frameworks
• Oversee investment operations, portfolio reporting, transaction support, and related documentation
• Manage relationships with banks, custodians, auditors, legal counsel, tax advisors, and investment managers
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, legal, tax, and governance requirements
• Drive operational excellence, process improvements, and infrastructure enhancements
• Prepare management reporting and provide operational and financial insights to support decision-making
Requirements
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline; professional accounting qualifications are advantageous
• Significant experience within family offices, asset management, investment banking, or related financial services environments
• Strong understanding of investment operations, financial management, governance, and risk oversight
• Prior family office experience is preferred
• Proven ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships within a confidential environment
• Strong commercial acumen, sound judgement, and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with principals and external stakeholders
• High levels of professionalism, discretion, and integrity
