The Director, Business Development is responsible for driving strategic growth and revenue expansion for the company's security solutions and systems business. This role leads market development efforts, builds senior-level client relationships, and originates high-value opportunities across enterprise, government, and critical infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Market Development
Define and execute the business development strategy for security systems and solutions in alignment with the company's overall commercial objectives.
Identify and pursue new markets, verticals, and growth opportunities, including enterprise, government, and regulated environments.
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape within the security sector to inform strategy and positioning.
Revenue Generation & Deal Leadership
Originate, structure, and lead high-value business opportunities, including large-scale and multi-year projects.
Manage complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, consultants, partners, and decision-makers.
Lead commercial negotiations and contribute to contract structure, pricing, and risk assessment.
Build and maintain a strong, high-quality sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts to senior management.
Industry & Client Engagement
Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key clients, partners, system integrators, consultants, and technology vendors.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, translating security system capabilities into clear business and operational outcomes.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and strategic meetings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with engineering, solutions, operations, and project teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and deliverable.
Provide market and customer insights to support product development, solution enhancement, and service improvement.
Mentor and guide senior business development or sales team members where applicable.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 12-15 years of professional experience, with substantial experience in business development or sales leadership within the security industry.
Demonstrated track record in selling security systems and integrated solutions, such as:
Video surveillance (CCTV / VMS)
Access control systems
Intrusion detection and alarm systems
Integrated command & control or PSIM platforms
Proven success in managing long sales cycles, complex RFPs/tenders, and project-based sales.
Experience engaging enterprise, public sector, or critical infrastructure customers is strongly preferred.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to structure and close complex deals.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline advanced qualifications are an advantage.
