We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader for the newly created role of Director, AI Strategy & Development. This individual will be at the forefront of shaping and executing our company-wide AI agenda.
You will be responsible for identifying high-impact opportunities, building a strategic roadmap, and leading the development and integration of AI solutions across our content lifecycle-from creation and production to marketing, distribution, and fan engagement. This is a unique opportunity to build a function from the ground up and directly influence the future of media.
He/She will need to travel frequently, maintain rapport with potential and existing clients, and network extensively to develop business relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the central
- hub and expert advisor on AI for the entire organization.
- Develop and own the enterprise AI strategy, aligning with business objectives across production and business teams.
- Conduct market analysis, assess competitive landscape, and identify emerging AI trends relevant to the media industry.
- Create packages for local and regional market entry
- Partner with divisional heads to discover and prioritize AI opportunities.
- Lead workshops and ideation sessions to translate business challenges into actionable AI/ML projects.
- Maintain a portfolio and pipeline of AI initiatives, balancing quick wins with long-term transformational projects.
- Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle for key AI projects, from prototyping to piloting and scaling.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, IT, and Product teams to ensure robust integration and infrastructure.
- Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, breaking down silos between creative, technical, and business units.
- Communicate strategy, progress, and insights to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Establish governance frameworks for AI model development, deployment, and monitoring.
- Address risks related to data privacy, IP, copyright, bias, and ethical implications in close partnership with Legal and Compliance.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in technology strategy, management consulting, product management, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years focused on AI/ML.
- Proven track record of developing AI strategies and shepherding AI projects from concept to production in a complex organization.
- Experience in media, entertainment, streaming, or a closely related creative/consumer industry is highly preferred.
- Experience building and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies (e.g., generative AI, NLP, computer vision, recommendation systems) and their practical business applications.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical capabilities into compelling value propositions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills can explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with data infrastructure, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and MLOps principles.
- Knowledge of the legal and ethical landscape surrounding AI, especially pertaining to copyright and content creation.
